Italiano anyone?

My pasta maker arrived and I could not WAIT to try it out!!!  I read online about making your own pasta dough and finally felt like I could attempt it!  It was some work, mostly the kneading but I LOVED IT!  I loved it so much I wanted to share my recipes (yes these are my original recipes) with you.  ENJOY...

Pasta dough:
2 Cups Flour
3 Eggs (beaten)
 3 Yolks (beaten)
1 teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Water (if needed)
Or add more flour if needed.

Make a well with your flour, pour in eggs, oil and salt: and then KNEAD, KNEAD and KNEAD!!!
Till dough becomes smooth (5 minutes)

Wrap dough and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Make small flat strips and feed through machine.

Cut dough into desired size (we choose fettuccine noodles)
Separate and cook immediately for about 5-7 minutes in boiling water.
Dish up and Voila'!!

If this looks good, I assure you it tasted BETTER!!!  It was SOOOOO good!

Sauce:
1 cup Heavy cream
2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Butter
1/2 Tablespoon of Flour
1 clove of Garlic crushed
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and boil 1 minute, add cream and bring to simmer, then add garlic and cheese and whisk quickly, heating through.

My husband kept saying over and over how this was sooo much better than Carrabba's (which is a HUGE compliment from him!)  I will totally make pasta again!!!  Next time pumpkin ravioli with a lemon butter sauce!!!

I should shamefully admit: I did finally *talk myself* into getting this, this, this and these in a larger size because they run small!!!  I swear I am sooooo done shopping (at least until next weeks sale!)  I am back on my *no-buy* (husband laughing at me in the background!)

  2. WOW! That pasta looks awesome, it makes me hungry just looking at it. You inspire me to make my own pasta as well. Love the boots your purchased. Can we ever be on a "no buy" when there are so many great items at Anthro? LOL!

  3. That looks so yummy! My husband made some home made pasta noodles for his homemade chicken noodle soup last week. It was the best pasta I've ever eaten. Homemade is always best in my opinion. My husband is the chef in our home. I keep telling him he needs to open a restaurant. He makes the most incredible dishes. Maybe I'll take a stab at creating this dish because it looks tasty. Thanks for sharing. I'm excited to see you in your new purchases.

  5. Tricia, I forgot to ask you what size did you get in your Bianka Blouse? I want to order it but I'm having a hard time deciding what size to get. It's hard to know with all the online reviews. They didn't have any at my store to try on either. Thanks

  6. I got an 8 because I wanted it to be blousy on my. Jessica got a 2 I think and that fit her great! I almost always wear an 8 sometimes a 6 (if I am lucky) or even a 10 depending on the cut. I think it runs really TTS!
