OOTD- Off with the girls!

Today the  weather is perfect it's in the 70's!  It will be in the 90's tomorrow but for one day I get to enjoy it.  I am off for a fun filled day with my sister!  I am dying to try on this skirt because it's at the top of my wishlist and get these shoes because my Dr (sports med Dr. helping me with my feet *issues* from running) told me NO FLIP FLOPS and every time I go out wearing them (which is pretty much all the time) my daughter always looks at me and says "Mommy what did the Dr say?"  I totally laugh because she is right!  Here is what I am wearing...

OOTD- Running Retro Rose!

This morning I got up and ran 6.86 miles that is the longest I have EVER run and I am BEAT!  I am running a 10K in July so I wanted to make sure I could do it before I ponied up the $.  I know I can but now I wonder if I want to;)!  It always feels so great to exercise and honestly running is cheaper than therapy so, I know that won't be the last time.  I wore this a few weeks ago to church and thought it was a cute and fun combo, I totally forgot to take a picture after church yesterday so I may put the outfit back on and do re-takes later this week.

Jesus wept.

Tuesday afternoon I heard terrible news, a family whom we knew in Florida lost a child in a tragic car accident.  Since hearing the news I have been overwhelmed with emotions and keep sifting through my memories of this beautiful girl.  I firmly believe no parent should ever have to bury a child.  I cannot fathom what they are going through but my heart aches for them.

One of my favorite scripture stories is in John when Lazarus dies and Mary (Lazarus' sister) meets Jesus as he is coming into town.  She is crying telling Jesus that if he had been there her brother would not have died.  We then read that Jesus wept.  This short scripture is so profound because moments later Christ raises Lazarus from the dead.  Christ knew the miracle he was about to perform yet he wept with her, showing us the ultimate example of compassion and love.  I too have wept for that family and the loss they had endured, I have found myself on my knees quite a bit these past few days pleading for them.  I do find peace and comfort in the knowledge that death is not the end.  That families can be together forever.

Posting a picture of myself after writing of this tragedy seems insensitive, but I will catch up next week.  If you would like to help that wonderful family donations can be made here.

"Will my life become a legacy of things that matter most to me?  Will I want to be the person I've become, when all is said and done?
Will I hear Him say 'well done' when He sees who I've become?  Will I live with Him, when all is said and done?"

OOTD- my favorite Summer buy!

The Pezza Dress has been my favorite Summer buy without question!  I love this dress it's so comfortable and versatile (think fall with boots and a fall colored cardi!)  So far this Summer has been really B-U-S-Y I had no idea *trying* to actually be a good mom could be so overwhelming (I think I will go back to mediocre!)  I ran a 5K on Saturday with a group of friends (and took 6th place in my age division, but I am not bragging!)  Anyway posting will be sporadic but it looks like that is par for the course for a few of us!  Here is what I actually wore two weeks ago (then deleted it on accident and re-took this morning)...

Feathers... fun or fashion no-no?!

Confessional:
When trying to fix your camera and it asks "do you want to reformat your memory card?"  Do not hit yes or you will lose all your pictures!

I ate a bowl of muddy buddy's for breakfast... I figured since they are made with rice chex it counts as cereal, right?!

On the song Dynamite I was singing it the other day and sang "I throw my hands up the air sometimes saying ay-oh, Galilelio"  My nephew started laughing at me and said you know it really says "I throw my hangs up in the air sometimes saying ay-oh, gotta let go"  I am getting so old!  My husband makes fun of me all the time because I re-write lyrics.  I could tell you about 10 similar stories!!

I ordered these from Etsy because I think Jennifer Love Hewitt looks H-O-T hot and I believe if I put them in my hair maybe I will look like her;)!  Ok maybe not but hey I think they are cute!!

You can pick them up here at Sephora or here for a lot cheaper!  You could even get creative and hit up the local fishing store (the feathers are in the fly fishing section) and get some feathers yourself!  They are really easy to put in yourself, here is a tutorial that is quick and actually makes sense!  You can buy the grommets for your hair at Sally Beauty Supply!!

So what do you think about feathers?  Are they on your list of things to try?

Technical issues...

So for the past week I have not been able to upload photos from my camera to my computer... I called Apple but don't want to pay the $ to have them walk me through how to fix it until my hubby has exhausted all resources.  So no OOTD pictures until that is fixed (hopefully tonight!) my other camera is working but it's pictures are not as good as my DSLR.  So I will post my *wishlist* it has not been too long lately, but that may be because I am spending more time outside enjoying the weather than shopping online!  I am holding out for a sale on all of these items!
Fingers crossed it's a good sale tomorrow!!!
