Italiano anyone?

My pasta maker arrived and I could not WAIT to try it out!!!  I read online about making your own pasta dough and finally felt like I could attempt it!  It was some work, mostly the kneading but I LOVED IT!  I loved it so much I wanted to share my recipes (yes these are my original recipes) with you.  ENJOY...

Pasta dough:
2 Cups Flour
3 Eggs (beaten)
 3 Yolks (beaten)
1 teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Water (if needed)
Or add more flour if needed.

Make a well with your flour, pour in eggs, oil and salt: and then KNEAD, KNEAD and KNEAD!!!
Till dough becomes smooth (5 minutes)

Wrap dough and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Make small flat strips and feed through machine.

Cut dough into desired size (we choose fettuccine noodles)
Separate and cook immediately for about 5-7 minutes in boiling water.
Dish up and Voila'!!

If this looks good, I assure you it tasted BETTER!!!  It was SOOOOO good!

1 cup Heavy cream
2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Butter
1/2 Tablespoon of Flour
1 clove of Garlic crushed
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and boil 1 minute, add cream and bring to simmer, then add garlic and cheese and whisk quickly, heating through.

My husband kept saying over and over how this was sooo much better than Carrabba's (which is a HUGE compliment from him!)  I will totally make pasta again!!!  Next time pumpkin ravioli with a lemon butter sauce!!!

I should shamefully admit: I did finally *talk myself* into getting this, this, this and these in a larger size because they run small!!!  I swear I am sooooo done shopping (at least until next weeks sale!)  I am back on my *no-buy* (husband laughing at me in the background!)

  1. How cool hunnie....I know you ordered happy you got it and loved it:)

  2. WOW! That pasta looks awesome, it makes me hungry just looking at it. You inspire me to make my own pasta as well. Love the boots your purchased. Can we ever be on a "no buy" when there are so many great items at Anthro? LOL!

  3. That looks so yummy! My husband made some home made pasta noodles for his homemade chicken noodle soup last week. It was the best pasta I've ever eaten. Homemade is always best in my opinion. My husband is the chef in our home. I keep telling him he needs to open a restaurant. He makes the most incredible dishes. Maybe I'll take a stab at creating this dish because it looks tasty. Thanks for sharing. I'm excited to see you in your new purchases.

  4. Yeah, that totally makes me hungry too...that looks fantastic! The next time I'm in town, I am totally inviting myself over for some homemade pasta a la Tricia!

  5. Tricia, I forgot to ask you what size did you get in your Bianka Blouse? I want to order it but I'm having a hard time deciding what size to get. It's hard to know with all the online reviews. They didn't have any at my store to try on either. Thanks

  6. I got an 8 because I wanted it to be blousy on my. Jessica got a 2 I think and that fit her great! I almost always wear an 8 sometimes a 6 (if I am lucky) or even a 10 depending on the cut. I think it runs really TTS!

  7. Just keep making yummy pasta for your hubby and he'll barely notice the Anthro charges on the cc, lol, lol - I love how you "no-buy" it's totally the way I roll too ;)

  8. OK, seriously, that looks like the best pasta EVER!!! WOw, that makes me want to make some!!! ANd I have to agree with Jan...the "no buy" rules are my favorite...totally get thrown out the window if something fabulous shows up on sale! =) IT's the effort and trying that counts, right? haha

  9. Yum! Making my own pasta is something I've yet to attempt, but it looks like so much fun! Thanks for the tutorial! You make it look easy. ;)

  10. TRICIA!!!!! I should stop reading your blog... now I am thinking about your miracle machine and want one too! I am totally going to try that recipe of yours... do you think I could use a rolling pin... hahaha but the sauce sounds really good. I will try it sometime SOON with a boxed fettuccine.

ps the boots you got... good choice!

  11. Thank you Tricia! That is very helpful. I'm hoping I like the fit once I get it.

  12. So yummy! So you're going to make some for me when I come visit, right?!

  13. ooooo - this makes me so hungry! I LOVE PASTA! I'm totally going to have to try to copy your recipes sometime.

  14. Love that gadget! I got one many moons ago and enjoy making pasta from scratch!

  15. You are seriously making me want to buy a pasta machine. It looks and sounds so good!!!

and btw, how did I miss the Bow and Angle belt on sale?!?! UGH!!!

  16. That's so cool that you have your own pasta maker and are able to make your own pasta from scratch. It looks like it came out just right. By the way, I'm holding a CSN giveaway on my blog and you're welcome to come by and enter.
